The Boys & Girls Club of Virginia Peninsula have been a longstanding partner of the Ripken Foundation. They have been running our programs since 2012 when they first introduced Badges for Baseball. Chanda Bowie, Director of Program Services stated, “Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation has given Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula the opportunity to participate in Badges for Baseball. The program has helped our youth learn about baseball. Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation gave our youth the opportunity to play baseball, build relationships with teammates, law enforcement officers, and other youth development organizations at the Summer Camps.” BGC of Virginia Peninsula continue to run our programming at a top level every year and always enjoy implementing new programming. In 2020, while not being able to run programming in-person, they were able to run our Virtual Fitness and at-home STEM programs with the equipment we provided to them. They now currently run all Ripken programming!
