The Ripken Foundation and Group 1001 have teamed up to open six new STEM Centers in the Charlotte Mecklenburg school district. Croft Community School, Governor's Village STEM Academy, Lincoln Heights Montessori School, Mallard Creek Elementary School, Tuckaseegee Elementary School, and University Park Creative Arts School will all receive full-equipped, turnkey STEM Centers.
Each STEM Center will be equipped with educational STEM products with a specialized selection of lessons, technology and storage, the Ripken STEM Curriculum Guidebook, and training by the Ripken Foundation STEM team. These schools will also have the opportunity to participate in our annual National STEM Challenge, using real-world problems to encourage students to apply their STEM skills and knowledge to develop innovative solutions.
