The Ripken Foundation and our partners at Devon Energy recently created a new STEM Center at Mettie Jordan Elementary School in Eunice, New Mexico. This joint effort is one of many STEM Centers sponsored by Devon and the Ripken Foundation. In fall 2019, our partnership opened STEM Centers at Broadmoor and College Lane Elementary schools in Hobbs, NM and one at the Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad, NM which serves more than 100 elementary students daily. And again, in March 2020, we partnered to open seven STEM Centers in Artesia, NM. Our collaboration with Devon Energy has given over 20,000 kids access to STEM learning in 14 states.
The Ripken Foundation STEM Centers are designed for youth organizations and schools to get youth interested in STEM through hands-on learning. Each mobile STEM Center comes fully installed with the latest technology, the Ripken Foundation STEM Center Curriculum Guidebook for mentors, and customizable activity kits that include hands-on games and activities.
