Thanks to Anne Arundel County, the Ripken Foundation has just broke ground on a new Youth Development Park at Brooklyn Park Middle School in Maryland. The new Park consists of a multipurpose synthetic turf athletic field with a grandstand, scoreboard, and field lighting. There is also a lighted eight-lane competitive track and field facility, an outdoor basketball court, concession stand, and restrooms. The facility is expected to be complete by August 2023 and will to open to everyone. The Ripken Foundation teams up with communities and organizations to build safe places like this for at-risk youth to not only exercise and play, but to enhance their lives through character-building programs, life skills curriculum, and clinics.
