The Ripken Foundation hosted the first Community Enhancement Project of the 2021 Team8 Tour in partnership with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) at Washington Technology Magnet School in St. Paul, Minnesota. Over 60 volunteers from UHC renovated the fitness space, assembled sports equipment, and revamped the garden. On day two of the stop, UHC volunteers, along with the help of a certified nutritionist, created a healthy dinner for more than 2,000 students and 230 teachers and school staff after the clinic. Additionally, the Ripken Foundation’s health and wellness expert, Chris Welsh, instructed the school's coaches on proper usage of the equipment and students went through a fitness clinic to try out their new fitness center.
