The Ripken Foundation is partnering with Edgewater Federal Solutions and Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) to install state-of-the-art, turnkey STEM Centers in selected FCPS elementary schools. in 2023-24, we will host a ribbon cutting at Tuscarora Elementary School to celebrate this exciting partnership and the expansion of our STEM Center initiative.
"This is wonderful news," said FCPS Superintendent Cheryl L. Dyson. She continued, "We definitely appreciate Edgewater Federal Solutions and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation working to advance STEM education in Frederick County. Tuscarora and Whittier Elementary students will greatly benefit from this partnership."
Each STEM Center come fully equipped with hands-on learning tools like Snap Circuits, Bee Bots, and Makey-Makey. These tools, along with an emphasis on collaboration and critical thinking shaped productive adults with the integrity to initiate positive changes in their communities.
"We're extremely proud to once again partner with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation to place two STEM Centers in Frederick County Public Schools. These Centers will help expand minds and give children a great opportunity to explore the world of STEM through fun, interactive programs and equipment," said Edgewater Chief Executive Officer Dave Yockman. "The skills learned at these Centers will help further educate these students and grow our community."
