In case you missed it, read our last blog post to learn how you can participate in our first annual “Cal, Sr. Day” on August 11, 2014.
We’ve already heard from some of you about the fun you have planned for August 11th, including citywide Quickball tournaments, park clean-ups, a clinic with a local baseball team, and more. Keep them coming! And while you’re planning, here are some of Travis’s tips for running youth events: http://crsfportal.org/forum/tips-running-youth-event
While you’re preparing for the event, we also want to make sure everybody else knows about your Cal, Sr. Day celebrations and the great work you are doing. Let’s work together to highlight your organization’s “Cal, Sr. Day” celebration:
- Tell us about your event – Contact your program manager or use this form to send us your ideas)
- Send out a press release – Use the template in the “Cal, Sr. Day Press Kit” on the Materials page under Planning Field Activities.
- Use the hashtag #CalSrDay when sharing event photos and videos on social media – Suggested posts and more info available in the “Cal, Sr. Day Press Kit.”
Together on August 11th, we can light up communities across the country as we celebrate an uncommon coach’s legacy with our kids. By sharing positive news, perhaps we can inspire others to share the gifts a mentor once shared with them.
Thank you for helping us honor Cal Ripken, Sr.—both on August 11th and through the work you do for kids every day.
