It is our final week of Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation summer camp before the last of our kids head back to school, and we’re going to make it another great one! This week, we have program participants and their mentors coming from New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and even from Canada!
Today, they are all arriving at camp—many thanks to Southwest Airlines for flying in many of our campers! When they get to camp, we check them in, assigning everyone to a team of new friends for the week. Then we give them all the gear they will need for the week—shirts, baseball pants, baseball cap, a glove, and a backpack to carry it all—not to mention any toiletries or sheets or anything else they may need! We are very grateful to Marucci, Rawlings, Under Armour, and Walmart for making sure our campers are geared up and prepared to have a great time at camp.
This will be a week of trying new experiences, challenging ourselves, and celebrating all the amazing individuals we get to share time with this week! Among them will be coaches who are military veterans, and of course our Badges for Baseball coaches, who will be joining us all week and sharing lessons both on and off the field.
