Earlier this month, we visited Hartford PAL in Connecticut, where we ran an afternoon Badges for Baseball clinic, which included a variety of sports and Law Enforcement presentations. Their summer campers traveled to one of the Youth Development Parks (YDP) we built together. At the YDP, kids brought out their athletic side to play Quickball, dodgeball, and soccer. Among the Law Enforcement rotations was everything from patrol and traffic vehicles to a boat and even a tank! Campers were able to ask questions and learn more about what each officer does on a daily basis. Through these presentations, positive relationships were formed between the children, community, and officers.
Not only does Badges for Baseball teach life-long skills such as leadership and sportsmanship, but it also helps foster these relationships. Many campers said their highlights of the daily included exploring all of the Law Enforcement vehicles!
Stay tuned for updated from our clinics!
