As I am going through my checklists and camp paperwork, I am starting to feel the excitement for June Camp. I am looking forward to seeing all the kids from North Carolina, Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Maryland, and my sites from the great state of O-H-I-O!
I am now in my second year at the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, and camp has become one of my favorite things to experience. I love the first day when the kids get off the bus with big smiles on their faces ready for the week. I also enjoy the bus rides between the fields and our overnight facility. Each day I sit next to a different kid and learn all about where they are from, their families, and some of their favorite things to do. It’s always hard on the last day when kids tell me they want to stay with us for a few more days.
So I am finishing up making folders, double checking lists, and packing all the gear for next week. Get excited, because next week is going to be epic!
I will leave you with two of my favorite photos from last week’s camp:
Make sure you check back here next week, follow all of us on Twitter, and like the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation on Facebook as we will be blogging, tweeting (#CRSFCamp), and posting pictures and updates every day of camp!
