Every day at the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, we celebrate all our youth. However, today is #dayofthegirl, so we pay special attention to the girls of our youth organizations. Our newest program, I’m GREAT (Girls Respecting Each Other and Themselves), aims to positively impact girls through female mentorship. The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation wants to teach the value in respect, resilience, being real, responsibility, and reflection to show girls how truly remarkable they can be. Through strong female mentors, girls throughout the country can learn and grow to be GREAT students, friends, family members, and more. Remind your girls they are beautiful, strong individuals that are capable of anything.
“One day I decided that I was beautiful, and so I carried out my life as if I was a beautiful girl. I wear colors that I really like, I wear makeup that makes me feel pretty, and it really helps. It doesn’t have anything to do with how the world perceives you. What matters is what you see.” – Gabourey Sidibe, American Actress
