What is a college day experience?
The college day experience introduces youth to what it is like to be a college student or a student athlete. At a college day, middle school youth spend the day on a college campus interacting with student athletes. College days allow youth endless opportunities to ask questions to students, athletes and school officials. These events provide youth a glimpse into the world of a college athlete, and the steps it takes to become one. These experiences show youth that education after high school is an attainable goal, and many youth spark new ambitions after attending.

What does a typical College Day look like?
College days differ based on the location, but each one provides a unique overview and immersion into the life of students on campus. Each event starts by bringing everyone together with either a multi-sport clinic or a Quickball game on a college athletic field. Youth then participate in a question and answer session with representatives from the school. Following the Q&A, attendees have lunch in a dining hall eating among students and athletes. After lunch, youth tour the campus and see classrooms, student centers and athletic facilities. At the end of the event, everyone attends an NCAA sporting event, giving them a chance to explore the scene of a collegiate athletic event.
In 2017 the Foundation hosted College Day Experiences at American University, Lock Haven University, Florida Gulf Coast University, University of Maryland, University of Southern Mississippi, Springfield College, Kent State University, University of Dayton and James Madison University, Springfield College, and Kent State University. These opportunities are open to youth at our partner organizations that participate in our Badges for Baseball program located near the institutions.
