We are so excited to be kicking off a busy summer here at the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation with our overnight camp! Overnight camps are a great time for growth in children of all ages. Our campers are in for a fantastic week of making friends and learning new skills both on and off of the baseball diamond. Sunday was our first day and campers arrived from all corners of the United States! This week, we have campers attending from: Mississippi, Florida, California, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Texas
Camp is a great place to try new things, and for many campers this started the moment they left their homes and got on their first flight! Many thanks to Southwest Airlines for helping our campers travel to Maryland in style for this amazing experience.
Our first day saw campers arriving and being decked out with some amazing gear to make this week a success! A huge thank you to Under Armour, Rawlings, BSN Sports, and Walmart for providing us with supplies to make this week unforgettable.
Campers are already having a blast learning the fundamentals of baseball, all while creating some lasting memories and gaining valuable life skills in the process. There are also some fascinating presentations for the campers to enjoy. We had a visit from local law enforcement agencies during the day. Our evening presentation was Chris Welsh who spoke to campers about the importance of setting goals and having a plan to keep moving forward and growing.
