Before joining the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation as a Senior Director of Resource Development, Ed Wallace served as President of the Foundation for SUEZ NORTH AMERICA for three years.
In his position, Ed was responsible for strategically managing SUEZ’s NA foundation and charitable giving. Ed also managed community investments, programs and employee volunteerism. He led an initiative to structure the corporation’s charitable giving in a manner that focused on environmental outcomes, while insuring that philanthropic values were best aligned with the needs of the community and the interests of the company.
Prior to SUEZ NA he worked for Sony Electronics Inc. for 23 years, where he served as Vice President of Community Affairs and of the Sony USA Foundation. As an almost $10 billion consumer electronics subsidiary of the Sony Corporation, Sony Electronics employed Ed to manage their $1.5 million philanthropic budget and to set direction for corporate social responsibility. During his time there, he developed a charitable investment strategy, managed corporate contributions and coordinated volunteering. He worked to bolster the Sony brand and put the company’s best foot forward in the eyes of the public. Prior to that position, Ed served as Sony Electronics’ Senior Manager of Community Affairs, and also as a Financial Systems Analyst.
Ed served as Chairman of the Association of Corporate Contributions Professionals (ACCP) in 2009, Chairman of the San Dieguito Boys and Girls Clubs in 2013, Treasurer on the Carl T. Osterlof Foundation Board and was Treasurer of Youth Consultation Services in 2016. He was a 2009 Father of the Year for the San Diego American Diabetes Association and was selected as one of Ramapo College’s “Distinguished Citizens” in 2008.
