The Ripken Foundation teamed up with local police to host a Quickball Tournament in Maryland. Youth from BGC Metro Baltimore, PG County PAL, BGC Annapolis, James Mosher, DMV PAL, Seat Pleasant PAL, BGC Harford and Cecil County, and EL1 Sports joined us for a fun day of Quickball or “Quick Baseball” or “Quick Softball” — a national youth sports program that teaches diamond skills in a fast-paced, sandlot setting. Kids of all skills levels are able to get actively involved in the game, honing important skills and learning sportsmanship and teamwork. Quickball is part of our signature Badges for Baseball program, which pairs at-risk youth with caring law enforcement mentors who use team sports to teach valuable life lessons while having fun.
