JaNel Alston
Assistant Director of STEM Education
JaNel joined the Foundation in November 2024. She brings more than 25 years of experience in public education. During her time in education, she worked as a classroom teacher, mentor teacher, and STEM resource teacher in Baltimore County Public Schools. In addition to her experience in education, she has also worked as a curriculum development specialist and professional development facilitator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications studies from Towson University and Master of Art in Teaching: Instructional System Design. She hopes to bring her enthusiasm for STEM learning to students across the nation.
JaNel enjoys watching football and is an absolute home team fan. She also enjoys swimming, dancing, painting and traveling with her three teens (a son and a set of twin daughters). She hopes to bring her enthusiasm for STEM learning and her experience as an educator to mentors and students across the country.
