Ripken Foundation Partners with MENTOR National

Nov 16, 2020

The Ripken Foundation is partnering with MENTOR National, a partner of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to help celebrate #ThankYourMentor month. MENTOR National’s mission is to fuel the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships for America’s young people and to close the mentoring gap. As a current recipient of OJJDP funding, the Ripken youth development programs are closely aligned with the MENTOR mission. We believe that positive mentoring relationships are a key tool for advancing equity, connection, and opportunity. To help promote creating meaningful mentor relationships, we have joined MENTOR and created our own #ThankYourMentor Campaign.  Showing appreciation to those who have helped you find your way is an easy way to both encourage and inspire the next generation to step up to become mentors. In these unprecedented times, it’s especially important to recognize those making positive changes in our lives and our communities!
How to participate:
1. Post a video or photo of yourself thanking your mentor onto your organization's social media
platforms. We also encourage you to have additional staff members and youth participate and
share their mentor stories. Attached is a sample photo that could be posted.
